It is the purpose of this directive to establish policy and
procedures regarding the purchase of footwear from an approved
outside vendor.
- Each inmate requesting to make an outside purchase must have
adequate funds available in her personal account at the time of
request. Credit and layaway purchases are not permitted.
- Any returns of items shall be at the inmate's expense.
- All purchases must be approved by the appropriate personnel
prior to the time the items received by the facility. Request for
outside purchases shall be initiated by the inmate only and
reviewed by a designated facility official, who will approve or
disapprove the request. Final approval is made upon inspection
when the item is received.
- Merchandise must meet DOC specifications and price guidelines
as specified below. If an item is in question, please check with
your property manager or security prior to ordering.
- Boots/Shoes: Dress or work, maximum height of 6"
measured from inside to top of shoe, maximum heel height of 1
1/4", no safety toes, no metal shanks, no metal buckles, no
straps, catches, pocket or fur lining. Maximum $100.00 plus
shipping. Color limited to Brown, or Wheat Nubuck.
- Sneakers or Tennis Shoes: Air pumps and removable air
pockets prohibited. Maximum $80.00 per pair plus shipping. Colors Black or Navy Blue are not permitted.
- Sandals or Slippers: Shoe or sock type.
- Family Purchases: Purchases made by family/friends are permitted. However, prior approval from correctional personnel must be issued prior to the time the item is received by the facility. If the item is rejected because of no prior approval a 10% restocking fee will apply. Freight charges are not refundable.
